Oh- hey, I still take pictures and play dress up…
Yeah- mostly, the dress-up takes place over at the Tumblr nowadays… but the lovely Miss Kara featured me on round two of her ‘Fashion Faux Pas’ feature… you may remember round one? (that was back when I was a redhead!) I was excited that she asked me to participate again. I chose the faux pas ‘White after Labor Day’ (does ANYONE really adheare to that any more!?) I am not one for packing away ’seasonal’ items… yeah. Right. I’m a firm believer that white looks pretty in any season…. so I thought I’d give you a heads up in case you wanted to check out the feature- and if you’re into pretty things and sweet photography just check out Kara’s blog in general- I recommend!
I’m sporting a thrifted dress that I hacked off, tights from who knows where, Chinese Laundry boots, a Forever21 cardi, H&M earrings, a cowl scarf from Etsy, and one of my very own EmilyOH! headbands.

P.S.- a HUGE thanks to my gorgeous models Allison, and my sister Val. Aren’t they gorgeous!? And they were such good sports, trekking through tall grass, risking chiggers and creepy bugs, and fashioning a goose-beater-stick for the crazy drunk goose that was running us down. (I’ve seriously never seen such a weirdly behaving goose. Scary. And no, we didn’t use the stick. We just waved it around un-menacingly while squealing and running away. No geese OR girls were harmed in the taking of these product shots)

Emily, Oh! Head Bands….
Hey all,
I’ve had a lot of inquiries about my flower head-bands…. as seen in these photos, sported by myself….
… and I’ve found a brand of silk(ish) flowers that I absolutely adore, so I was wondering if anyone has any interest in purchasing their own?
Right now, I’m offering two different types, the full-blown, dramatic, oversize Josephine Blossom Band:
…and for the girl who may not be prepared for to take on the ENTIRE blossom (that’s a lot of flower, I know!)… the more demure, but no less girlie, Juliet Bud Band:
Now, I just snapped these photos quickly this morning when I didn’t even have any make-up on, so I’ll post some more official photos later this weekend/Monday when I have the chance, so you all can see the product a bit better, but right now, I have a total of 2 Juliet Blossom Bands in light Pink (as shown in the photo) and 3 over-sized Josephine Blossom bands, 1 in Crimson, and 2 in light pink (as shown).
These come on a one-size fits all elastic black band and look gorgeous with your hair up, down, curly or straight! I have about 5 of them that I wear whenever I need a little something to dress my outfit up! (As a wedding photographer, I find that they are the perfect accessory, as I don’t wear a lot-if any- jewelry other than earrings because it gets in the way of the camera and bag- so these add a little flair and are out of the way!)
I’m offering a deal for anyone interested, the Juliet Bud Bands are $10 ea (+shipping) and the 3 Josephine Blossom Bands are $15 ea(+shipping) - these prices are just for these 5 bands! Road Trip 2010.
First wedding of 2010 is tomorrow. First road trip of 2010 starts this afternoon. Excited. I’m happy to shoot again, winter blahs have set in and I need to be creative again.
I Succumbed…
to twitter. I did. If I can figure it out… I’m hoping it’ll assist me my photography. If I can keep up with it. I read a whole bunch of articles on photographers and twitter, and the ways one can utilize it as a marketing tool ect… (who have thought I was a researcher? I am though!)

Vacation: California
In 10 days, me and my sisters take off on our epic road trip of the year…this one more epic than any other that we’ve taken. We’ve been to Canada together, Florida, St. Louise, Chicago, Cleveland, West Virgina, and now…we’re headed cross-country to California. (Strange, I know, we still haven’t hit up New York. That’s next on our list.)
We’ll be stopping to see friends in Arkansas, and Albuquerque, and meeting up with a close friend in California.
I want to have a bonfire on the beach….and I want to see the sunrise from the beach. (and yes, mom, as you pointed out, I am fully aware that California is in the WEST, but the sun comes up there too!!! And I will watch it from the beach!)
Yes. I will be taking a bajillion photos. And yes, thanks for asking, I will be posting on the blog while we’re away! So if you want to follow our trip, don’t expect me to start twittering or tweeting, because I will not twote. (did I conjugate that correctly?:)
I’m going to be crazy busy till I leave, editing photos, at work, (we’re in the process of a move!) packing both suitcases and my apartment…because I’m moving to a new apartment the weekend after I get back!!! So excited. August, I love you.

Teeny, tiny, and all(most) mine…
I’ve found an apartment. (!) Hopefully I’ll be signing the lease tomorrow night.
Its tiny, but that’s perfect, since it’s just me. I’m excited to be getting out on my own…but I’m realizing how much “stuff” I need.
Honestly though, all I can think about is what I’m going to do with the space! (I don’t have an Interior Design degree for nothing!)
Painting the walls is a no-go (sad) but it’ll present a creative challenge to bring color in, in other ways, so I am looking forward to it…

I’m still working on my “about the photographer” description…and if anyone would like to write a “testimonial” type thing for me, that’d be pretty amazing!
I’m hoping to get a graphics gallery for my design work set up some point this weekend, as well as work on some new business cards with the site on them. So incredibly exciting.

News…news….
So, I am in the process of creating a “site”. All my own. Very excited. I’ll post the link as soon as its all set.
Also, if you haven’t check out the cakewrecks blog, do it NOW. (or if you haven’t read any since the time I posted it….the updates….are hilarious. All I have to say is: (”Olynpic Rings”)…..yeah. Do it.

In a twist of events, I’m playing music at a wedding this weekend (instead of photographing) and Joel and me have written some stuff. (instrumental) I think it will be a good time.
E: Album
I put together an album/book for Greg and Amy Meredith to showcase a few of their wedding photos. I printed the album through WHCC and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out. I’m hoping to offer these to my future engagement/wedding clients.
I hope Greg and Amy enjoy it!
(I secretly ADORE how the cover came out! I didn’t know how they were going to print it initially, and then when it came, I was so happy!)
In some personal news….it looks like I’m going to get the car I’ve been wanting….God willing. If it all works out, by the end of the summer I’ll be driving a 2008 Honda Fit!! Pray that everything works out for me if you think of it!
(I don’t know what color….I’m on the wait-list, and pretty much whatever color they get….I’ll probably take!)
